Tip: Keep your recording resolution at your monitor's native resolution. Downscaled recordings shrink the kill feed text, which makes both your viewers and any OCR-based scanner work harder than they need to.

Step 2: Calibrate on Warzone's Kill Feed (Once)

Step 4: Tune Lead-In and Lead-Out for Movement Plays

This is where Warzone montages differ from other games, and nobody writing about clip tools talks about it. Warzone kills are usually the end of a play: the slide-cancel around the corner, the dead-silence flank, the rotation that put you behind the squad. A clip that starts two seconds before the kill shows a crosshair and a death — the part that makes it montage-worthy happened eight seconds earlier.

Concrete starting points:

  • Movement and slide-cancel plays: 8–12 seconds of lead-in. You want the approach in frame, not just the payoff.
  • Static sniper flicks and window peeks: 4–5 seconds. There is no setup to show; a long pre-roll is dead air.

  • Minimum clip length: set it around 6–8 seconds to automatically cull fragments too short to be watchable.

Step 5: Assemble the Montage

With the clip list tuned, cut the weak ones. A montage of 12 great clips beats one with 40 mediocre ones every time — viewers judge you by your average clip, not your best.
